Thanks for showing the treasures, Gene - @geneeverett. No sweat, they are still 0.999 Silver, under the stains. At least one can handle them and not worry about damaging them. But, the $18.47 sales tax... I think one can avoid the State Tax, if the Silver is Sovereign bullion coinage, (dollars, marks, euros, etc...) AND over $1,000 (USD), spent. Again, an advantage for the wealthy. And no VAT tax, in the USA. I'd check out the Local Coin Shops, in NYC. There must be many, LCSs, there. Ask what kind over junk, mishandled Silver coins they have to get rid of, usually low premiums.
Coins like this can go for under $30, and average, uncirculated $40 and higher. Again, I like to touch & feel coins without having to worry about hurting them. It's about their weight not changing.
