When I was a child, back in the late 1950s, even early 1960s, anyone could go into almost any bank and get a Silver Dollar for a paper Dollar bill. By around 1964, the Silver dollars started drying up but one could get Silver half dollars, quarters, & dimes. Money was real and hard to come by. It had to be earned, by working & producing.
