Another interesting Silver Dollar caught my eye and I had to have it.

The Sovereign Nation of the Shawnee Tribe minted 70 thousand Silver Dollars (50K Bullion, 20K Proof) to commemorate the Battle of Fallen Timber, that took place on August 20, 1794, in Ohio.

While reading up on the Battle of the Fallen, in Wikipedia, I noticed a familiar US Postage Stamp commemorating the Battle, in the article. Yes, I remember now, about twenty years ago I picked up the same US postage stamps at Local Coin, Stamps, and Baseball Card Shop.
US Stamp2.jpg In 1929 it only cost two cents to mail a first class letter. These Stamps are going on a hundred years old. I bought several hundred similar 2 & 3 Cent stamps, total. You will never guess what I paid for these vintage stamps. All stamps were 10% below face value. Yes, one can still use these unused stamps to mail a letter. But, one would have to put twenty-five $.02 stamps to equal the fifty cents postage. I have been toying with the idea of sending Christmas cards decorated with many different 3,4,& 5 cent stamps. It may take up to 12 stamps to equal the fifty cent postage. Yeah, that's inflation.
US Stamp.jpg As you can probably guess, Stamp Collecting, that used to be very popular, dead as a door nail. Fifty-year-old stamp collections are going for as low as 70% below face value, collections that may have be paid for in Silver Money, back in the day. Thanks for looking.
