The hydroelectric power plant Krka or HE Krka is the second oldest hydroelectric plant in the world and the first in Europe. It was built under the waterfall Skradinski Buk on the Krka River.
According to the patents of Nikola Tesla, the world's first hydroelectric plant was released on Niagara Falls.
On August 28, 1895, just two days after the first HE plant on Niagara Falls, the first Croatian HC plant was launched,
and Sibenik was the first town in the world who got AC electricity for city lighting and industrial use.
