I-400-class submarines were the largest submarines of World War II
They were submarine aircraft carrier capable of carrying three Aichi M6A aircraft.
The submarine had four 1,680 kW (2,250 hp) engines and carried enough fuel to go around the world.
Eighteen planned, three made by the end of the war all three lost.
Length: 122 m
Beam: 12.0 m
Draft: 7.0 m
Maximum depth of 100 meters which is less than the total length of the submarine.
Because of its unusual design, the control was a very demanding, submarine always wore to one side so the pilot was constantly correcting the course.
A very interesting submarine by an imperial Japanese I'm interested in what I they have hidden from the eyes of the public today.
