The Flying Dutchman is a legendary ghost ship doomed to sail the oceans forever.

According to some the ship has disappeared, in 1641, according to some other 1680. The legend says that every ship on the open sea that meets the Dutchman expects some terrible accident.
There are many sightings of the ship through the history on the sea and from the land.
Flying Dutchman has achieved world-wide popularity in disney movie pirates from the Caribbean where he appears with the Fictional captain Davy Jones.
