Music is already copyrighted material for musicians. Everyone who wants to use it for commercial purposes and illegal usage will face a sue for copyright. A big case in the music industry came from Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group, and other labels that have filed a lawsuit against the non-profit internet archive. The lawsuit is about Copyright infringement for the Internet Archive's "Great 78 Project" as an "illegal record store" by offering streaming access to digitized music from vintage records. It's including from musicians such as Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis, and Billie Holiday.

While internet archives' mission is to "provide universal access to all knowledge", on the other hand, The lawsuit says, "The recordings are all available on authorized streaming services and face no danger of being lost, forgotten, or destroyed"

Apart from the music industry, Internet Archive is also still in another copyright infringement lawsuit from leading book publishers over its digital-book lending program. Well, a lending program is sure to get copyrighted because it's not yours and you're using it for commercial purposes. It's 100% needed to get a lawsuit.

From my viewpoint, I don't know why some people or organization wants to lawsuit against something like that. Is it about money? An illegal one that's free to stream is more likely to be used than the legal one. We talk about history records and non-profit archives. I think as long as it's not for commercial purposes (No money needed to access the Internet Archive), it's okay to share books, music, animation, or whatever it is for future generations. Having a backup is always better than no backups. Who will save history if we can't share that history?

It's like what I ever experience. In my elementary school life, I love to watch animation and it educates me to be a good person and have a high dream. Some of the old animations aren't in production anymore or have no remake version too. They also are gone from the internet and other sources. Just some people who have the recorded version from old television have it and somehow they share it privately. After I search for it on the internet, I found that it was blocked to share due to a dark story. If you watch it more than once with an adult brain, yeah you can feel the dark story behind that. It's like... Just why did you see the dark part? Children are watching and taking the positive educational one. I watched that around more than 10 years ago and saw the MC having a full-fledged life to dream and choose their life way as a kid.
I hope it won't be like that in the music industry too. Well, classical music without lyrics like Mozart and Beethoven is safe. But how about music that has a lyric with bad words or something sensitive? I don't know why people always see the negative parts and ignore the positive parts 馃ぃ. Personally, I always take the positive one and ignore the negative parts of any media that I watch, read, and listen to.
