I would say that "first mover advantage" is often much bigger than people think. There are so many points of resistance, from "it's new and untested" to "I'm just going to wait and see" to "well, we're already HERE, and it would be a lot of hassle to move" and more... you can have the greatest new project in the world — and people even admit that — and yet, overcoming people's inertia is incredibly difficult.
THE has long annoyed me precisely because the gas fees fly in the face of the entire notion of cryptos being a "cheap and fast" alternative to conventional bank-based financial systems...
