Finding content from certain users, keeping track of the updates made by your favorite witnesses, among other things, it's usefull for activities that take a certain amount of effort and extra time if we don't use correctly the tools that the community has developed to do this type of tasks in a more efficient way.
That's why in this post we will talk about What is SteemWatchBot? and How to start using and configuring it in just 10 minutes.
SteemWatch is a @void's project which aims to provide notification applications using the interfaces available to interact with Steem's network. Within this draft are notifiers for:
Discord
Telegram
Slack
SteemitChat
However, we have noticed that the Steemit community, especially the Spanish-speaking community, prefers Discord as a means of interaction between the community so we will focus on this application.
For more information about this project you can check the original post:
This application was designed to be user friendly. So in a few steps we'll be ready to never worry about manually searching for content from our favorite authors or some extra information we want to know.
Create SteemWatch account
The first step is to create an account in the SteemWatch Notification Center.
We enter the site: https://steemwatch.com/
And using our Facebook, Github, Google + or Reddit account, we create our user.
Connect SteemWatchbot to your Discord user
The quickest way to connect it to our Discord user is by logging on to the Bitcoin Culture Server, in which it is already added, and sending a message.
Server Invitation
The message to send you will find in your SteemWatch account at Notifications in the Discord section (see image).
Now, _SteemWatchbot will reply saying that the connection has been successful, but we will still need to send you a final message to bring it to life:
enable
In case you want to add it to your own Discord server copy and paste the following link from your account
server administrator:
https://discordapp.com/api/oauth2/authorize?scope=bot&permissions=0&client_id=353626156995444736
To set it up we will go to our account at SteemWatch and in the Events part of the page we will customize the notifications as follows.
In the category of the action that we want to be notified, we will indicate only with the username, which account we want to monitor certain activity. For example
If I want to know if the @gtd or
@jesta account is updated, as well as in the image, I must put its users.
In summary, we can monitor the following account actions:
At the end we will get personalized and private notifications as in the following image:
