I have several Comfrey plants scattered around the property. The leaves are large and make a good mulch. You can also tear off a bunch of leaves and put them in a bucket of water and let them sit for a month or longer and that will make a good fertilizer.
Some of the plants are planted around fruit trees because they have tap roots 8 to 10 feet long and the roots will bring up minerals for the tree. They are said to be good for animal food but my chickens don't care for it.
At one time it was called Knit bone because it was used for sprains. It will help heal cuts and scrapes but you have to be very careful to have the cut completely cleaned out. It could heal over with bacteria still in the wound.
