next week update.jpg

This week several people asked me why their post didn't get an upvote from the ctpsb account. There are several reasons and I would like to explain this here.

Are you among the curated accounts?

To be able to be eligible to get upvotes from ctpsb, your account needs to be curated. Every two months, we make a ranking of all the people who have staked CTP tokens. To be ranked you need to produce posts carrying the #ctp tag on a regular basis and also you need to post content that is deemed of sufficient quality. If these conditions are met, we then check the CTP richlist and we take the 50 people that fulfill these criteria and have the most CTP tokens staked.

On the basis of this ranking, we then set automated upvotes.

Supporting the community as equitably as possible

The CTPSB project is a community project. It means that the hive power on the account belongs to the CTPSB token holders. The objective of this project is to support the active members of the community to grow their hive power and to encourage them to post quality content.

In order to do that, we set the automated upvotes as follows:

  • Every author in the ranking can get maximum 1 upvote every 24 hours and maximum 7 upvotes per week.
  • Upvotes are only given if the voting power of the account is above 90%. This is to avoid that the voting power is drained.

By proceeding like that, we manage to give an even amount of upvotes to the members of the community.

Why didn't I get an upvote?

The main reason why you probably didn't get an upvote is because when you published your post, the voting power of the ctpsb@ctpsb account was below 90% voting power.

Another reason can be that there is less than 24 hours between your posts. Remember that you can get an upvote only every 24 hours.

Work on the quality of your posts

While updating the ranking last week, I realized that the quality of the posts of some authors is really limit. I especially saw that many authors repost the same content over and over again, just changing a couple of words in the post.

If the quality of these authors doesn't improve, we will change the voting pattern for them or even exclude them from the project. We don't want to support low effort posts. It wouldn't be fair towards the people who put in a lot of work to create content. It would also be against the general objective of this project to encourage people to create quality content.

Here the numbers of this week:
