Sparked from a disccusion one of our members had on linkedin as well as some discussion with some of our members who were somewhat confused after joining, we want to make it very clear to everyone what exactly they get by joining our society and why we have a one time fee of $500 payable via the top 20 currencies.
We keep all members money stored in desktop wallets and hardware wallets. We do not store money on exchanges or use exchanges to trade members currencies into other currencies. This is done to ensure security of the funds we are sent.
We use these funds for a number of reasons. The first reason is to pay for the domain names we offer our members. We will also continue to pay for these domain names up to 3 years. After that time it will be up to each member to maintain their own domain name and we will contact said members about the expiration of their names and how we transfer each domain name to its owner them come that time.
Next we use the funds to pay for the hosting we offer our members. We have rent to own contracts and we rent several servers all which become property of the society after a two year contract. Our current servers have one year left on their contracts, but we may obtain more as time goes on. At the end of the two year contract, we will still have to maintain data center hosting fee's but will no longer be required to maintain the server fee's. At that point if anything goes wrong with the servers hardware, we will have to pay to have that fixed.
Finally we use the bulk our the membership fee's for the creation of our education platform. Creating an edcucation platform is incredibly costly. We have to pay for video creation, video editing, voice overs, course materials, study guides, and tests. Our goal in the future is to become a fully recognized and accredited online based college specifically for learn blockchain and cryptocurrency technology.
Currently our education platform is still being worked on and courses still being developed. The platform is not yet ready, and likely won't be ready to offer any courses until December of 2018 at the very earliest. We hope to have at least 3 courses ready by that time but will be adding more courses throughout all of next year as money permits us to do. We also have to keep up with new technologies as they become available.
This is the largest project we are working on and where all our focus is at the moment and where the largest part of our money goes.
