This is a "tongue in the cheek" comment.
Perhaps the reason why dogs live shorter than humans is that dogs really get the concept of LOVE very quickly.
Dogs' tales will waggle for their owner, even if the owner forgot to put food out or disciplined the dog for something not done right.
Us humans need a bit more time to figure out how LOVE works.
