I grew up in southeast Texas fresh water fishing. As a matter of fact, I can not remember not fishing. When I was a young boy, I can remember my brothers and I begging my dad to take us fishing after he just walked in the door from working two jobs to help make ends meet. Looking back, I'm sure am glad he did.

Largemouth Bass. She weighed almost 9 pounds!

I finally was able to get out on the water this morning. Typical central Texas summer morning. Partly cloudy, warm and humid. I was casting lures (crankbait) down a seawall that quickly dropped off from 2 feet to 25 feet of water. All of a sudden...BAM! My rod bent nearly 90 degrees over! The fight was on! I was by myself and did not have the net on the deck of the boat. After a short but hard fought battle, I was able to grab her by the mouth and land my biggest bass so far this year. Don't worry. She was safely released back into the lake right after this picture was taken :-)
