No, this article isn’t about MySpace. No Top 8 or Tom. It’s about Your Space. What do I mean by “Your Space”. I mean simply where you spend your time. For me, it’s my studio apartment. More specifically, my desk.
This morning, I woke up wanting to rearrange my space only to put it back more-or-less the same way.
There is something to creating a space. Where you are able to create from a heightened state. Where you can clear away distractions and just focus on what is essential.
For me, the essentials are a laptop, cup of coffee, relaxing yet alert audio, and clearing away distractions.
For clearing away distractions I have been using FocusWriter. I can make the screen full screen to eliminate any distractions.
This is why I needed to clean my workspace up. It helps clear my mind so I can just focus on writing. Already, I see a difference. I need to study more on focusing, but I feel like where there is too much visual stimulation around then your mind just wanders and goes in a million different directions. By eliminating everything else we are able to cut to the core.
I encourage you to try this yourself and share a picture of your space below :)
