What is Burst?
Burst is a proof of capacity coin, meaning that mining takes place in a hard drive and the amount mined is directly related to how much storage is available, rather than proof of work which relies on CPU/GPU/ASIC to mine. Once you have some burstcoin, you may be tempted into the asset exchange. The burst exchange allows users to buy and sell user issued assets in the hope of making a profit as well as earning some dividends based on the amount of assets held.
Is it worth investing in assets?
That is a difficult question to answer, I think for the average user the answer is no. Assets carry risk, the issuer may be a scammer, dishonest or just simply incompetent. Asset dividends sounds awesome until you realise that the ROI of most assets is lower than the value increase of burst and is certainly lower than what can be accomplished by simply sending your burst to an exchange and making smart trades.
Of course, it is possible to keep an eye on asset price fluctuations and buy when low and sell when high, and that is of course a sound way to earn burst, but you need to have the time to keep an eye on asset values constantly for this to be reliably profitable, I have had assets valued at 2000 burst drop to 500 in an afternoon while i was not paying attention. Of course it went back up after, however I essentially lost out on 400% profit by not selling high and buying back low. Another viable strategy is to buy sufficient assets that the dividend payout is sufficient to purchase more assets. This strategy is a very long process but works in a similar way to compound interest. Be aware that every transaction costs one burst, so buying in bulk is key! If you are only buying one asset worth one burst and you are having to pay a one burst transaction fee, you are doubling your costs and halving your ROI.
I recommend burst assets to people who research extensively. When looking at an asset, it is important to get information on the asset issuer, is he new to burst or a well respected forum member? Is he linked to any other assets? You also want to know what the asset is linked to, is it a mining operation? A faucet? A website? Try and find more info and find reviews or opinions by several respected forum members. Another vital thing to do is not to buy straight away, observe the price variance and take note of where the asset tends to drop to and where it tends to climb to. This is essential to figure out when to buy and when to sell. It is too easy to get excited and buy several thousand Burst worth of an asset just to find out you bought high.
Good luck and happy Mining!
