@practicaleric, about LBRY: keep in mind that it is a peer-to-peer system. It means you are downloading (fetching) the torrent as well if you are logged-in.
Also, the connection may be low, because the file is not on a central server. It is peer-to-peer, so if most of the seeds are down, or they don't have a good connection to you, then sometimes it is even impossible to watch a video. I also cannot watch some videos, that have a limited amount of seeds.
