At the beginning of the year, I set some goals to accomplish this year.
As the year ends today, nothing better than analyzing and reflecting on what happened this year and defining the objectives for 2023.
I had the goal in terms of family for this year to be able to have more family time and with more quality.
This was a goal that I was able to successfully accomplish, having changed my priorities. With this, I clearly realized that having more quality time with the family made the atmosphere at home much better.
This year a fantastic event happened, the birth of my second son (Miguel) who is almost a year old.
In my opinion, it was an incredible year at the family level that I will try to maintain for many years to come.
It was again a year of change, as I decided to change companies again.
This change was due to the following reasons:
I switched to Medway Holding (an MSC group company) which is in the rail freight transport and logistics business.
My new role is as Product Owner for several requests from different areas of the company.
I had two different thematic goals (one related to my family's loans and the other related to crypto investments).
I would like to try using DeFi to settle 1 of the 2 loans we have worth €13 240.
**Since DeFi lost a lot of hype, I was no longer able to use it in the same way and manage to have the same income as the previous year.
**
However, I cannot say that it was a bad year since I managed to reduce the amount owed to €11 880.50.
I set goals to reach 3000 Hive Power, 1000 LEO Power and make the ROI on the investments I made in play2earn the year before.
Let's start with the bad part....
I** wasn't able to make the ROI** of the investment in play2earn and since the tokens and assets were always devaluing, I made the decision to stop playing and try to recover the investment because it was no longer worth my time.
Unfortunately I didn't manage to reach the 3000 HIVE Power goal either, but on the other hand I managed to reach my goal of 1000 LEO Power.
Overall, in this chapter, we can say that I was only able to achieve one of the objectives.
My goal is to do everything to continue to have quality time with the family, trying whenever possible to do activities outside of routine.
In professional terms, my objective is to learn the different processes of the different areas of the company to become autonomous and not need so much support in some matters.
Currently, the area I know best is rail transport in Portugal, as I implemented several features when I worked at a company that supplied MEDWAY.
We currently have two financial loans to pay:
Regarding the first loan, the only realistic goal I will set will be to negotiate my current terms, as they have not been revised for over five years.
Regarding the other loan, although it does not generate interest, it is something that I would love to be able to make payments in advance, because that way it will end sooner, and I will free up a fixed monthly payment.
My minimum goal for this loan at the end of the year is to get the outstanding amount below €10,000, but the ideal goal would be below €9,000.
I am not able to have a lot of financial availability for investments due to the loans mentioned above.
However, I continue to try to increase my portfolio gradually.
So my goals for 2023 are:
I know they are not very attractive goals, but for me they are fair, realistic and achievable which is the most important thing.
I wish you all an excellent start in 2023 and that you reach your goals next year.
