The community was decentralised before, regardless of the personal quality of the original witnesses. Now Justin can do anything he wants with the chain through personal choices; he can introduce centralised censorship, delete any account from the chain, etc. Is that what you want?
I'd rather have decentralised witnesses who are in it for the money (protecting their monetary interests) than an autocrat playing doll house with a chain he doesn't appreciate.

Why is it the Steem witnesses' duty to donate money to Venezuela? How is it bad that they didn't? And in case you don't know, there are a bunch of witnesses who have indeed donated money and votes to Venezuelans on the chain, to charities and to similar causes. But it's not their duty, and it can't be expected of anyone to just give away their cash because someone's hungry on the other side of the planet.
