Check out this article. It showcases both points of view, with an emphasis on Sweden. It's clearly biased, but it shows that although Swedes were satisfied before with their handling, they're seeing the death toll rise and are starting to doubt. We'll see afterwards what the commission has to say in their report.

In the article you linked, it doesn't say that Sweden has reached herd immunity, but makes an estimation about when they think it will come, and even they are not certain about it as they later say "if they stop after 5-6k deaths, we will know that they have reached herd immunity" (but they haven't stopped yet).

I'm not saying they won't reach herd immunity, but that it's too soon to say that they have reached it or are about to reach it.

In terms of the effects, so far, their economy is estimated to shrink just as much as Denmark's at 4.1% by the end of the year, there has been less of a cost in personal freedoms, and a much higher death toll which may continue rising for months until a vaccine is created, which will speed up the arrival of herd immunity.
