Brendan Eich confirmed the number of current sites/YT creators
"BAT sites verified = 2597, YouTube creators = 1389, total 3986."
As we can see here: https://twitter.com/BrendanEich/status/948634269357826049
There was a reply under it: "Retweeting for context in a few months when that youtube number is closer to 10,000.":
Brendan's reply:
"s/months/weeks/ once we have BAT user referral awards to creators up and running."

The current 4k sites/creators are absolutely nothing compared to the number of people who use for example Google Adsense(2 million people and that's 1 provider from the many) and as we can see Brendan believes this 4k will drastically grow. I guess with such expectations, it's hundreds of thousands at least(but more preferably million+).The total supply is 1,500,000,000 BAT and many people will simply hodl everything in a separate wallet, on exchanges, lose it, etc. Because of that, a huge chunk is out, almost as if those are non-existent. If this meant to be a serious business opportunity(and I think it is), wouldn't the price should be inevitably a LOT more in the future?
Without that drastic increase, how could Youtubers/websites have a decent income from BAT? Big video creators, streamers, websites earn hundreds of thousands or even millions in ad revenue from Google Adsense and similar top ad companies. So I guess they expect similar results(or better) with BAT too.
With BAT integrated, they share the ad revenue with the users(if I remember well, it's 70%), who might donate back some to their preferred sites. Not kidding, you can earn money by simply browsing. Maybe you can even combine Steemit + BAT in the future to earn even more than now! Big sites like 9gag have 3.5b views per month. The ad prices? Last time when it was possible to check it, it was a few $/1000 views/a single ad slot. Just think about how many BAT these people have to acquire per month if the price will be only a few $. And then think about the fact that they share a lot with the users and hundreds of thousands of publishers(or million+) compete against each other.
If BAT will ever hit these marks:
$1 price and 1,5 Billion BAT = 1,5 Billion market cap -> ~ 30th on Coinmarketcap at the moment.
$10 price and 1,5 Billion BAT = 15 Billion market cap -> ~ 8th on Coinmarketcap at the moment.
$50 price and 1,5 Billion BAT = 75 Billion market cap -> ~ 4th on Coinmarketcap at the moment. Still less than ETH, still the half of Ripple's market cap, still a lot less than BTC now and these 3 will grow by a lot in the upcoming months/years.
This calculation's only purpose is to show that even growths like these wouldn't be so big anymore... Also, don't forget that it's a Google Adsense competitor and Brave/BAT fights for a share of trillions of dollars.
The $1 target is close but I've no clue when will we hit the other two(I've dreamt about a $10 price last night, was cool) but big things are coming, charts look insanely bullish. I will sell many coins before the Bitcoin bull run, but BAT has become a "buy the dip and accumulate" coin for me.
