Going for my dialysis is a spectacle in my life because I got to prepare myself prior to getting hooked-up in my usual routine for my dialysis. No matter how Iz hate really to go I just have to rain or shine, pandemic or not, bad weather or in good one, I just have to get it over with simply because it is essential to my existence because I will not live if I will not get my needed dialysis.
On the day of my hook-up I will just have to eat first because it is not good to go with an empty stomach otherwise my blood sugar will drop down and I will get blood pressure issues. After eating whether what time of the early morning or day it was I then have to take a bath so that I will be clean when I get hooked-up and feel fresh while I am laying down on my dialysis chair.
I just have to clean myself up even though it is really cold in the morning or I am having having flare-ups with my joints pains. I also have to use the toilet for that matter as well so that I can be comfortable while I am enduring the 4-hour dialysis treatment.
After going from the bathroom I will then get wheelchaired by my mother back to my room. Over the bed was my clothes which my mother had prepared already which I will wear all by myself while laying down on my bed. Then after a while I will take my medicines like my caffeine capsules which I use to help me with enduring my dialysis. Then I will get wheelchaired to our old car and off we head to my dialysis center.
Now upon arriving to my dialysis center I will wait until my temperature is checked and answered some of CoViD-related questionnaire by the renal nurse assigned to the dialysis Triage. Then I will be weight with wheelchair included with on their large weighting scale. I will then be seated unto the dialysis chair on the eight machine because I could not use the other machines because of the virus in my blood. We are also required to wear some socks, bring our own blankets and bedsheet on top of the bed sheet that is put on the dialysis chairs for the reason of safety of everyone as the hospital says. We are also required to wear masks and face shields during this time of the pandemic.
