Red Pulse Analysis - Upcoming ICO on NEO platform
If u r invested in NEO, ICOs are vital because successful ICOs drive the demand up for our NEO tokens, which makes NEO prices go up. I've been researching the RP Whitepaper and talking with the founders of RP to asses the profitability of investing in RP. This is my analysis.
RP in a nutshell
RP is like a Chinese fusion of Bloomberg/Seeking Alpha and reddit that has two main features. The machine learning part that finds and translates important economic data from China (ct 1) and an independent contributor section where they have an editorial team to asses (ct 3 page 4) the accuracy and quality of independent contributors.
The data RP produces is sold to financial institutions like investment banks. They currently have 50 institutional clients (ct2) which they cannot disclose cuz of confidentiality issues (ct4).
RP is part of Accenture's 2017 FinTech Innovation Lab Asia-Pacific.
Supporting the RPX token is tricky for NEO investors because the opportunity cost of investing in RPX is the potential upside return of just leaving the money in NEO. However a high NEO price is also partially derived by the demand to invest in ICOs on the NEO platform. So supporting RPX and other subsequent ICO's also drives the price for NEO up.
Setting NEO aside for a moment, what about Red Pulse as an investment in and of itself? The price of RPX will rise if the token is useful, and I have listed the use cases below
RPX use cases (ct4)
- RPX tokens have voting power
- RPX tokens needed to asses premium services on the site
- RPX tokens needed to create research prompts
- Writers are paid in RPX tokens
- Holding RPX tokens on the RP platform give 5% yield per year in dividends.
To be honest, I was skeptic about the machine learning software because they didn't publish a sample work in the whitepaper, but accenture says they have one (ct 1) and the NEO team must've done their due diligence as they want the first ICO on their platform to be successful.
All in all I think Red Pulse is a great project because the current economic data on China is normally written by foreigners instead of locals. The closest thing to RP is Xuequi.com but all content is written in Mandarin so I believe they have a nice niche and are actually producing something the global markets need. I believe that the RP has a solid team and for those reasons I'm investing in RP as well.
