How to Calculate Reputation Score
For every level you increase your reputation by the next level becomes 30% more difficult to earn the next level; e.g. if you currently have a reputation score of 60 it will take you about 30% more activity to get to rank 62 once you finally get to 61. In other words, it will take you about 30% more the amount of time to get to the next reputation level if your trend remains at your average level.
Increase Your Hive Reputation By:
- Manual Curation: Find early posts (or between 5-25 minutes old) that you believe are quality posts worthy of trending. Scoring on these can earn you more points towards your Hive reputation as well.
- Up-votes From Author Posts: Quality posts can lead to a significant number of organic up-votes earned. Plus, since Hive frowns upon use of voting bots, more Hive users are manually curating posts. This means receiving up-votes these days are extremely rewarding because now more users and Hive dolphins are constantly hunting for good quality. Most users look for high reputation score from authors when curating new posts, so your reputation score can boosts the chances of being recognized in the lists of new posts too!
- Comments: Comments from not only your posts but comments you make that start chains of further comments leads to easy reputation points to earn as a bonus.
- Re-Hive: One other strategy to use sparsely would be to re-hive authors posts. This works well if you already have a strong group of followers behind your account who may not have seen the post otherwise and as a result of your re-hive leads to an up-vote received which also gives you not only reputation points but additional curation rewards as well.
Close to Reaching Hive Reputation Level 66 Milestone
So I've been working on trying to get my Hive reputation up for quite some time. I mean, I've been around since June 2017 and fairly active for at least a year or more throughout that time. So I'm very excited about the upcoming milestone I'm looking at of earning a Hive reputation level of 66! This took me almost three years!
I guess what Hive reputation should mean to you is that when you see author's with a high reputation score, assuming they put out some decent content and may be someone good to gain in your Hive network is probably safe and would be a method you include in your curation search for posts and authors.
