The more I read, and the more I think about it, the more convinced I am that it's the curators (our euphemism for readership) that we most need to pamper. And the numbers match: the great majority who make the system possible long term are the curators, and not the content creators, from a financial standpoint that is. Every content creator should be grateful to the hundreds of people who upvote them, so much so as to reward their efforts with at least a 50% cut. In only makes sense. You know what I mean? Like, if you put it into a business plan and presented it to investors ...

I think you're correct to shelve the idea. If anything, we've got to find ways to take even better care of them, like making low vote count comment voting equally attractive as piling into a high vote count post ... as I've mentioned in a couple of other places here already. 😉
