Best wallets for Ripple IMHO
Disclaimer: I am not a registered Financial advisor nor an advisor of any kind. This is not a solicitation to buy anything and I don’t receive compensation for suggesting any wallet. Any decision taken on the basis of this blogpost is not my responsibility. I have simply stated my humble opinion as a Ripple Investor and wallet user. Please do your own research and due diligence.
Ledger Nano S
The Ledger Nano S is a hardware wallet also known as a cold storage solution. I must admit that although this is the best form of storage, I found it to be a hassle dealing with this form of storage. But eventually, I’ve gotten around to it and have started using it. The best thing with Hardware wallets is that, safety is of the highest level and your coins are safe from hackers. I highly suggest using this option. Don’t be deterred by the price as it is well worth the investment.
Rippex
Rippex is a desktop wallet, supposed to reside locally on your computer. It is a form of cold storage, but relatively less safe than a hardware wallet. Your coins are prone to hacking if your computer’s security gets compromised. So, if you decide to keep your coins on your computer, make sure that you have an antivirus and spyware installed on it. This will make sure that your computer is away from prying eyes.
Toast
This is again a desktop or a mobile wallet/app. This is relatively lesser known, but I used it for over a month and had no issues whatsoever. It is a hassle free wallet, very simple and intuitive to use, but make sure you keep your passphrases safely stored and wallet backed up
