I did hear of Bitconnect, I'm sure there were some guys on the old Steemit that used to tout that but I never really looked into it (thankfully).

I was the same when I first discovered Hive back when it was Steemit, but at the end of the day, like you say, sometimes you just have to take the leap of faith.
