Unfortunately this system (like so many others) is flawed in so many ways. I have practically given up posting here because almost everyone voting is doing so just for rewards, very few people (if anyone) actually cares about my content. Nobody looks forward to my next story and I'll get the odd old Steemit friend coming and giving me a sympathy comment every now and again.
Then I see post after post talking about "curating" new users and encouraging undervalued content. When the reality is, it's all being done for cash rewards.
That's another bugbear of mine, the whole notion that what you're doing when clicking a button is somehow just as valuable as the person creating the content. It's not, it is simply clicking a button and in 99% of cases not even reading the article or story it took hours to create.
I've been thinking about where to put my stuff, I reckon it's going to be Medium and Patreon. I think by posting on a platform where money isn't the driver, will actually get me some genuine engagement and real followers.
