The Dream

When we speak about financial freedom, for some, that means a beach in the Bahamas. But for most, that means the ability to be free from debt. To have the mortgage paid. To be financially comfortable. To not have to strain yourself at a job you hate. To be your own boss. To have enough money to sorry out the kids.

This is achievable! But most of us are going about it completely the wrong way. I know I was!

The problem in our thinking

Let's face it, many think it comes with a prestigious career. And in order to get a prestigious career, we need to acquire prestigious institutional education.

So... We begin stacking the debt in order to acquire certificates and status. We eventually get a job that covers bills, debt repayments and if we're lucky, provides us with some disposable income. Eventually, following career progression, we can pay for a few more holidays and save a few coins. But no matter how far we progress working our 9-5, we are limited by a salary placed on our heads.

The new mentality

Working 9 to 5 won't cut it. Working 9 to 5 won't ever make you financially free. It can't. You're worth as much as someone tells you you're worth and not a penny more. I'm 25 and on over 6 figures, but something I know is that if they're willing to pay you something, it's because they know you can make them more. And remember this, it's always more lucrative to find a job that pays you while you sleep over a job that pays you whilst you consciously work. You're able to make 4.8x your worth instantly on that point alone.

So, ideally, the game plan is to start getting paid in my sleep in accordance with my actual worth. It sounds like a dream but it doesn't have to be. And.it definitely won't become a reality unless you dream big.

It's the journey I'm embarking upon and I'd love for you to join me. Anyway, that's all for now, it's 8:30am, time to start work.
