Nolan is really one of the best directors working today. From Memento, to the Dark Knight Trilogy, and now Dunkirk. He really has a way of making original, well-made movies.

My favorite scenes in Dunkirk were the ones with Cillian Murphy and the civilian boat owners. Maybe because their story was smaller in scale, and therefore more personal? And of all the soldiers who died during the movie, I was most affected when the boy in the boat died from an accidental injury. That just goes to show how horrible wars really are. Those who are just trying to help, and who shouldn't have even been there in the first place, suffer the most.
