American exceptionalism, manifest destiny, the treatment of non-white's, and even the unwavering support for Israel are all tied to the special brand of Christianity practiced. "God bless America" is more than just a slogan of salutation in the minds of many. It's an edict from God showing His favoritism toward the nation. Very misguided and dangerous, imo.
