It is Wednesday and that means only one thing and that it is time for the sportstalksocial@sportstalksocial showcase where we highlight some of the better posts of the week putting our sporting authors on display. All these posts are still live within the 7 day curation window so if you like something an upvote or a follow would be welcome.

Olympic Memories: Jesse Owens, the African-American athlete who shattered white supremacy at the 1936 Berlin Olympics.

Up first this week we have greengalletti@greengalletti who writes about the legendary athlete Jesse Owens who dominated the Berlin Olympics in 1936. At the time this was more of a statement showing Adolf Hitler his race was not the dominant force he preached about. I knew about Adi Dassler thanks to a post a few months ago by leedsunited@leedsunited (hint hint) but had no idea Jesse Owens became his first recipient of sponsored gear. A great post and definitely worth a read travelling back in time. I am a sucker for historical stuff so this post was right up my alley.

A beast called Lukaku

kraken99@kraken99 gets us back into football mode as we never can get away from it for long lol. I actually can't believe that Chelsea are having a second bite at the cherry resigning him for another stint as Stamford Bridge. I was never a fan of his whilst he was in his Chelsea colors as I thought he was lazy. Things change however and from a rough diamond he has evolved into a decent striker who can almost guarantee you double figures every season. He is improving every season and his size has something to do with it as he is just that much bigger than the other players around him. He is like a giant defender who can run and shoot and can muscle his way into areas others can't. Another interesting read showing where Lukaku has come from in the early days till now.

The nutrition industry is designed for you to fail

normie.fitness@normie.fitness has been around from near the start of sportstalksocial@sportstalksocial and always writes about something interesting regarding fitness or in this case nutrition. The nutrient supplement market is worth billions and we all know these things are questionable whether they work or not yet people still buy them. Normie tells it as it is and knowing he is a health fanatic would go with his word before that of manufacturers pushing their products. A very interesting post highlighting the pitfalls and how the industry work. I think it is the simplistic writing style he uses as though he is talking to you is what draws me in.

My best ever round of golf - an insight

We can't have a showcase without our crazy Irishmen ablaze@ablaze who has been absent for a while (hint). This week he brings us down to earth as anyone who has taken up golf will well know it is the most frustrating sport there is. I won't say anymore as you just have to read it as it brings back so many memories with my own rounds of golf. Why do we do this to ourselves as we already know the outcome ,yet we are back swinging to repeat what we did before. Sometimes we get lucky though and abaze@abaze takes us through a fluke round that most likely will never happen again. All I can say is that we are suckers for punishment.

Loads of hints this week in the post and hope they do write more as we need more posts in general. Just like to say a big thank you to the community as without you we have nothing so stay busy and support other members as we were all their at some point when starting out. If you are new a big welcome and if you are unsure on anything ask the community or myself for help. See you same time same place next week.
