Unfortunately Crypto social media is dominated by too many simpletons who haven't got a clue. The sad thing is many have made money by fooling others into thinking they know what they are talking about. This is like early entrapment that you learn from very quickly.
I think the majority of us who start out in Crypto are lured into the Crypto social media circles in order to try and learn what it is all about. The big mistake so many make is they don't realise until it's too late that they have been hood winked and have wasted precious time which would have been more constructive spent elsewhere.
These are the basic lessons we have to all learn to filter the garbage away from the genuine posts. One just has to type in the word Crypto on twitter to see how much worthless stuff pops up and it is endless. Very few tweets actually offer any valuable information that can be beneficial to those reading it.
Just think if someone spent half the time they spend on twitter or elsewhere on a blockchain like Hive how wealthy they could become. I knew someone who was addicted to Fake Book and her husband actually paid for her treatment which shows you how much time people spend on these platforms. Swap that for Hive and the husband wouldn't complain as she would be at least earning something in return (joke).
I raised this topic today as it has been a few days since I have seen LUNC trending as this is a prime candidate for time wasting. This only trends when they want something and not because of some new adoption or use case. There is just way too much effort spent on shilling absolute crap taking the space of genuine Crypto projects.
I do think over the last few years this trend has got far worse and the sooner they die off the better it is for Crypto in general. Finance and investing is a serious subject so it hardly makes sense to have the Crypto space dominated by crap. I do think it is an age thing what we are seeing take place as the majority in Crypto are far younger and would guess 30 and under for the majority.
Seventy-one percent of crypto investors are under 45 years old, according to the survey. In the first quarter of 2022, among those invested, 21% were in the 18-24 age bracket; 30% were in the 25-34 age bracket and 20% were in the 35-44 age group, according to the data.
This kind of stat would make sense why certain projects attract a certain type of individual. The Shib, Dodge, Lunc and a few other useless coins tend to have a similar type of following. These are easier communities to manipulate and why most likely they trend more often than others as anyone investing taking them seriously deserves to be manipulated I guess.
I would have a guess that more educated people will be in other Crypto projects that have use cases and a possible future. If you are investing you would be doing your research and bypass all the noise on social media. My wish is that one day we can actually have proper stuff on twitter that is beneficial to investors looking to find new projects to invest in.
