I am not really a cat fan even though I have had a few strays who overstayed and became the family cat. Cats are far easier to look after as they do that pretty much themselves and you do get good ones who come running when you return home. Dogs for me are a better companion and are an extra line of defense where we live so even small dogs play their part as they normally hear things before the big dogs do.
