The English Premiership is starting to hot up not on the player side of things ,but who is who in the managing positions. ten years ago there were 3 top managers in the Premiership with Ferguson, Mourinho and Wenger and they basically guaranteed their places in the Champions League each year. Chelsea, United, and Arsenal were the dominant teams and it all depended on which order they would finish in.

Manchester City was a club that was awakening having new owners and a pocket full of money to start revamping their squad. Liverpool were going nowhere and were just not consistent enough and were similar to Tottenham with the results they produced.

Looking at the names of who is managing teams in the Premiership now it is more of like a who is who in the managing world of football. The clubs that stick out are the likes of United and Chelsea who have fallen down the pecking order and any likelihood of a resurgence any time soon will surely disappear as the season wears on.

Klopp and Guardiola are the envy of all the teams throughout Europe.
Everton it seems are going to announce Carlos Ancelotti as manager this week throwing another big name into the league. Mikel Artetta who has been an understudy to Guardiola at City is possibly about to move to Arsenal which I see as a positive. Mourinho is at Tottenham which should pay off at some point as it has been too soon working with a team that has a leaky defence.

Normally we would have seen the Likes of Guardiola at United and maybe a Klopp at a Chelsea or an Arsenal and they really missed out big time. These two clubs have moved away from the others around them, City is a bit different however with a few injuries right now ,but still they will make top 4.

The big gamble as they have no track record.

The money that is on offer today with the Premiership and Champions league football makes the business of achieving a top 4 spot a must have for any of the top clubs. It looks like Liverpool and Leicester have tied up two of them already and expect City to take the third spot but the 4th position is up for grabs. Mourinho will be targeting that last spot along with Chelsea.

If United don't bring in a proper manager very soon then they have little to no chance as they have struggled the entire season and pressure will only mount with fans seeing the 4 th spot moving further away. I say this as I expect Tottenham and Arsenal to become more consistent in the second half of the season and to mount more of a challenge.
