Steem has been dropping in value since I joined this place over 18 months ago. That always happens to me with most things that I touch so you can blame me for where we are today.. In the future this period though will be just a blip that won't reflect how bad it was in the charts in years to come as this is what happens in crypto being so new and volatile.
What I have been mulling over for a while though is what happens when the dust finally settles and the markets turn. Steem suddenly starts climbing as it has to at some point and $1 is not that far away as we were on 80 cents bitching about the price of Steem only 4 or 5 months ago. Yes currently we would have to rise by about 600 percent to reach that point which sounds crazy in itself.
The tokens in Steem Engine are all backed by Steem so when Steem rises in theory so does every token as well. I am not far off holding 2 Million Sports tokens now and if Steem hits $1 and the value of sports is 0.01 which it was around two weeks ago then in theory that would be $20 000 worth or 20 000 SP. That would most likely take me 3 -4 years to earn on Steem with no investment.The way I see it $1 isn't much for Steem either and there is no reason why it can't be worth more. Who knows what it will be worth in the future and I don't want to kick myself by selling certain tokens now. Then again the tokens could still drop some more, but that is the gamble I am prepared to take as there is a tomorrow and it isn't all about today.
This is one of the reasons I am trying to power up everything I can get today as others who haven't caught onto this will see the bigger picture eventually. I hope they do anyway as I want everyone to do well from this place. Users can do what they like with their tokens as it is a free world, but I just don't see the point in selling. We don't see the real value just yet, but at some point it will be noticeable especially when Steem holds a much stronger value and the ones that have staked will be in a strong position.
What has been noticeable is the distribution of the token has lowered the rewards somewhat and it will be harder to grow at the rate some of us have already. Like many things in life the more you hold the more opportunities you will have and this is no different.
I have received more votes and comments in the sportstalk tribe than I have had on Steem and this shows me that the tribes are working and there is a community here. We all know what it is like having a post on Steem and I used to receive 20 -25 votes on average and that has doubled and tripled now on sports. This place is a gold mine for those that see it as a long term adventure and it is fun at the same time. Who doesn't like reading and writing about sports.
