Very wise post. Saddening, but absolutely worth reading.

For me it has been necessary to read a large number of publications, to try to understand what is happening, and to try to give my personal opinion about this case.

Same here. I also tried to learn as much as I could and still .. entire situation is surely very confusing for many. It's hard to understand goals and intentions on both sides. I'm sure that witnesses and so called whales mostly are worried about their investment being in heavy risk - which is quite normal and justified.

On the other hand Justin. Week ago it seemed that optimism has been growing and until soft fork (which I will always consider unnecessary and pointless act)

Right now most people seem to care about pointing finger at Justin and putting blame on him. Saying that he started. That he forced witnesses to carry on with recent soft fork. And to some cenrtain degree I understand both sides. However it doesn't matter any more "who started". What matters is that I cannot see possibility of any dialog happening any more between those 2 parties.

And that is bad :/

Is this measure really justified?

Many users will see it as fully justified action. And even if I would agree with them - I think it's like putting stick into ant nest. How could anyone assume lack of reaction. Soft fork clearly provoked escalation of conflict and it completely "shut down" some door.

Week ago I've been quite optimistic, today I'm feeling a bit doomed. I would only like to know what were Justin's reasons to purchase Steem in the first place. Perhaps he didn't expect that Steem community will turn out to be mostly very hostile and unable to accept new order.

This has been a huge fight between large stakeholders. Between people who do not give a shit about us, small users. That's how I see it already.
