This is a documentary from 2013 made by the German ORP channel looking at the state of surveillance in the UK and Europe, and how what is being marketed as anti-terrorism is catching innocent people up in its wake.
London is the most heavily surveilled city in the world, something that drastically increased following the 2005 London bombing attacks. The film starts there looking at some of the people developing the soft- and hardware that is pushing this trend, and at some of the victims also.
One man who found himself on a terrorism suspect list for no other reason that the cameras thought his behaviour ‘suspicious’ now finds he can't get himself off that list, and an online search shows him as a terrorism suspect, and will do till forever.
We next here from some of the people trying to fight back against this sort of privacy invading, and virtually totalitarian surveillance, including William Binney, Jacob Applebaum and Birgitta Jónsdóttir.
