This is a simple introduction to the dark web, for people who don't know what that is. It usefully distinguishes between the surface web (the everyday world of google, facebook, twitter, netflix and so on), and the deep web (where such things as banking are conducted in private [we hope]), to the dark web (a small corner of the deep web where illicit things like drug and weapon dealing are found).
Whereas 96% of the internet is in the deep web, only a small fraction of that is the dark web, estimated here to be between 2,000-10,000 sites. How these sites are accessed and what is found there is only briefly covered, though there is the usual; reference to the Silk Road, Bitcoin, andthere is some unfortunate mis-information about Ross Ulbricht given.
