I bought a (physical) CD today: ROUGH AND ROWDY WAYS of BOB DYLAN. I is impressive - and it takes a lot to make any impression on me. Yep, you can download all and do not need to spend the money. But in case of great artists I buy official, hoping he gets something of it.
We by now all know the amazing song MURDER MOST FOUL. The other songs on the album also are gems. I am ten years younger that Dylan - his songs took me trough life in some mysterious way. Know many feel the same. He was always there - and ever changing. Words for everything. Never stuck into any scheme or ideology. Always free, always sketching reality in a beautiful way.
"I contain multitudes". In Dylan life speaks. Sometimes sweet, sometimes bitter - always deep. We are so lost in discourse and arguments and maybe we should - but there is no better way to show reality and feelings than a great artist. It brings us to what really matters. Bottom lines.
In an interview Dylan acknowledged time matters. You cannot go back to the same place in the same time. You're on the road but there is no bringing it all back home... Things have changed. Tangled up in blue.
A gift! That is what it is. Tender, cruel - intimate. Thank you Bob.
