Signing Gibbs-White for £125m isn’t a solution; it’s a band-aid on a bullet wound. If De Zerbi’s system doesn’t click, another star player just becomes the scapegoat. It’s easier to blame a £125m signing than to admit the tactics were wrong from day one. That’s how you get a team of expensive individuals instead of a cohesive unit.
