With all due respect to the people that are not understanding this and how it improves the game greatly I will give my quick two cents.
-First, you don't have to own that much in DEC, you can rent a few cards that get you to the level you want to get to if you feel your cards are being shorted for their playing level.
-Second, your card values in dollars and cents do not necessarily cross over as equal. You can go chase a card that's selling at a major premium, the regular version of course, and pick that up for say 5X the burn value. That's fine, you're better now as a player but you also spent a highly concentrated amount of money for one card, or just a few meta cards.
-Third the game was not going to survive if adjustments were not made. Especially on the gold end. Gold cards sell at little to no (the burn bot has been gobbling them up lately in many versions) premium to their DEC value. That puts a major ceiling on card values and overall excitement for the game in the long run. Rewarding gold card holders had to happen at some point and those of us that hold them have had to be patient, and now our time is here. Not to dominate the game, not even close, but to get a decent premium above burn value from a fix like this.
-Fourth... There has been virtually no incentive (outside of finishing in the top 50) to power up level 2,3,4 rare decks, for example or other cards at the same level give or take. I have two accounts playing in the game, one is worth $9,100 total, the other is worth about $550. They finish routinely in the same few hundred points for ratings for the past several seasons. That tells you a few things. One I'm an idiot for not parting up my collection and spamming like 30 accounts the past several seasons. Two, I'm very lazy and unorganized otherwise I would have accomplished the above, winning the same as other people that have cards worth 5k-10k and have a bot army matching their rewards, therefore devaluing the rewards as a whole.

To be quite honest these numbers were far more lenient than they could've been. I was actually expecting about double what the collection score thresholds are at the moment. Those of you freaking out take a breath, your rewards you WILL BE GETTING from now on won't be the same rewards going forward. This will create more scarcity and real value moving forward.
