I just dump it in the compost bin with the yard waste. They make us put kitty litter in bags, probably because it makes a mess of a truck. I try to make meals from scratch, that's the best way to save on packaging. We consume too many finished goods in the west which is the real problem.

And yes, wrapping sterilized medical goods is fine. But the PPE garbage during covid, all those disposable masks and gloves went above and beyond logic.
