Plenty of time to travel down there, unfortunately most flights pass through USA or Toronto to get to these Islands. Barbados is less crowded then Mexico but way more expensive. I'd suggest something more relaxing like Antigua or if you like development, Aruba is nice. Every place is different and if you have young kids, just go to the DR or Cuba.
