Usually we are quiet when we hike and see quite a few animals including the odd bear. I tend to skip the busier trails during peak season. This hike was with friends and was more of a social event.

My dream is to see a wild cat on the trail and for that silence is essential. Let's just hope it's not an angry mountain lion.
