When waking with God fulfilling His will starts to be of utmost importance to us. Our own will becomes irrelevant. The safest direction we can ever take in life is by walking in the path which God has ordained that we take.
God's path may not seem easy at times but it is the surest way for us. The book of Psalms 23 describes God as our shepherd and we as His sheep. If we are very observant of a shepherd and his sheep we see that the sheep always goes in the path been directed by their shepherd. The do not for any reason to against it.
Sheep are followers by nature. We christians are also followers because we follow Christ, and He expects us that we have the same nature of sheep — following Him faithfully. We don't go on our own accord.
A sheep for example exposes itself to danger if it should go astray. That is why it should at all times stick with the rest of the flock so as not to make itself susceptible to the attacks of the enemy. Their are different paths to take in this life but God's way is the best
