The occupation of Jesus
Hello beloved brothers and sisters. It is always a thing of joy delving into the Word of God and seeing what He has for us. In this amazing message, Brother Eli Soriano takes us on a teaching concerning the occupation of our Lord Jesus Christ. As we all know, Jesus'earthly father—Joseph—was known as a carpenter. After Joseph died, Jesus took up the work of his father which he left behind.
By reason of Jesus' occupation as a carpenter at that time, people around didn't see Him as anyone special. Because they knew Him as a carpenter they saw Him as nothing more than that.
Matthew 13:55 – Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
People are often fond of concluding about us because of what they see of us at that particular time. That was the case with Jesus and the people in His hometown. He wasn't taken serious by these people because they knew His father as a carpenter and the rest of the family. But what they didn't know was that there was more to Jesus Christ and His present occupation.
Despite Jesus occupation He still ended up fulfilling the destiny He was assigned to fulfill. Most times what we see presently about people doesn't mean we should conclude about them. The same Jesus who people saw as just a mere carpenter turned out to be the saviour of the world. Thank God for His Word. Remain blessed.
