Bitchat can work on the device already in your hand via Bluetooth, but Bitchat lacks range (silly to text chat with the person 20 feet away). Reticulum requires special hardware & skills (99% of people will not buy specialized hobbyist geek hardware), but Reticulum has range. They complement one another.
