Success!
My dual boot OLD laptop was getting so slow it was almost unusable. I decided to wipe it clean and reinstall both Windows and Linux Mint. Little risky, I'm prone to goofs. But, seems to be working fine. I can again choose either and Windows is MUCH faster. 😀
