2020 was a complicated year in general terms: pandemic, lack of food, basic supplies and fuel, movement restriction, imposition of the mask, social distancing and loneliness. A lot of loneliness.
This was also the year that opened the doors to the crypto world to me, even though not in the best possible way. 2020 told me: "Here you go, here's an excellent opportunity, what you've always wanted: to be your own boss." It also took the opportunity to send me a referral link via WhatsApp and sold me my first portion of Bitcoin, $15 dollars in BTC ... which lasted in my newly minted wallet less than a meringue at the door of a school.
What did I do with my precious satoshis?

I "invested" them in that excellent opportunity that had just been presented to me. Supposedly that should have given me some kind of happiness, I was supposed to be my own boss ... but I looked up and my boss was still there ... and it wasn't me.
I had to wait 10 months for those $15 dollars in Bitcoin to become $30 ... so I went in search of "opportunities" that took less time to double my money. And yes, they did take less time, but in falling like a house of cards and disappearing with the money of their "investors", who from now on we can begin to call their victims. Because if you haven't realized it yet, I'm talking about scams, Ponzi and pyramid schemes, which began to proliferate a lot on the island in that year.
The massification of the internet in Cuba was the necessary trigger for these types of schemes to explode on the island and with their siren songs they enchanted more than one.
Most Cubans were naive at the time and were fooled by the promise of easy money.
Official data (according to the managers of one of these schemes) in Cuba alone more than 120 million USDT in fraudulent investment schemes were sold and more than 395,000 accounts were registered.
Did we all lose our money?
No, many made huge amounts of money, but not by "investing" more, but by referring with that link that they gave me by WhatsApp to hundreds (if not thousands) of innocent people who, like me, started by depositing $15 dollars in Bitcoin.
Some were mistakenly convinced that it was legitimate, others (the more unscrupulous) knowingly continued to recruit unsuspecting people because they earned a hefty commission by doing so.
Where did I end up in this story?
I ended up a little in between. I realized (maybe late) the scam and therefore I abstained from throwing people into the rabbit hole. I tried to warn those I could, but they didn't listen. The trust in their supposed leaders was great. Until ... between "web maintenance, withdrawal suspension, kidnappings to the family of the CEO" and any other cheap excuse, all those "regulated and registered companies" began to fall one after the other.

I remember one of them, the most conservative in terms of the return on investment (ROI) promised, relied on the closing of one of those schemes, to announce its own, with the excuse that they were partners and that when one fell, the other had become insolvent.
Guess who was an investor in both... the one who is here 馃ぁ.
This post has no greater pretensions than to leave a simple but important lesson: There is no easy money, not everything we see on the internet is true, that a CEO gives his face does not make him a good person, we are constantly exposed to scams and if something seems too good to be true, it probably is not so good.

驴Qu茅 hice con mis preciados satoshis?

Los "invert铆" en aquella excelente oportunidad que me acababan de presentar. Supuestamente aquello debi贸 darme alg煤n tipo de felicidad, se supon铆a que ya era mi propio jefe... pero levant茅 la vista y mi jefe segu铆a ah铆... y no era yo.
10 meses deb铆a esperar para que aquellos $15 d贸lares en Bitcoin se convirtieran en $30... as铆 que fui al encuentro de "oportunidades" que tardaban menos tiempo en duplicar mi dinero. Y s铆, s铆 que tardaban menos tiempo, pero en caerse como castillo de naipes y desaparecer con el dinero de sus "inversores", que a partir de este momento podemos comenzar a llamar sus v铆ctimas. Porque si a煤n no te has dado cuenta, estoy hablando de estafas, de esquemas ponzi y piramidales, que por el citado a帽o comenzaron a proliferar mucho en Cuba.
La masificaci贸n del internet en Cuba fue el detonante necesario para que este tipo de esquemas explotaran en La Isla y con sus cantos de sirena enamoraron a m谩s de uno.
La mayor铆a de cubanos pecamos de ingenuos y nos dejamos engatusar por la promesa del dinero f谩cil.
Los datos oficiales (seg煤n los directivos de uno de estos esquemas) solamente en Cuba se vendieron m谩s de 120 millones de USDT en planes de inversi贸n fraudulentos y se registraron m谩s de 395 000 cuentas.
驴Todos perdimos nuestro dinero?
No, muchos ganaron cantidad ingentes de dinero, pero no a base de "invertir" m谩s, sino de referir con aquel link que me dieron por WhatsApp a cientos (sino miles) de inocentes que al igual que yo comenzaron depositando $15 d贸lares en Bitcoin.
Algunos estaban equivocadamente convencidos de que aquello era leg铆timo, otros (los m谩s inescrupulosos) a sabiendas de que era una estafa segu铆an reclutando incautos ya que ganaban una jugosa comisi贸n al hacerlo.
驴D贸nde qued茅 yo en esta historia?
Yo qued茅 un poco entre dos aguas. Me di cuenta (quiz谩s tarde) de la estafa y por tanto me abstuve de seguir lanzando personas al agujero del conejo. Intent茅 advertir a quienes pude, pero no escucharon. La confianza en sus supuestos l铆deres era mucha. Hasta que... entre "mantenimientos a la web, suspensi贸n de los retiros, secuestros a la familia del CEO" y cualquier tipo de excusas baratas, todas aquellas "empresas reguladas y registradas" fueron cayendo una tras otra.

Recuerdo que una de ellas, la m谩s conservadora en cuanto al retorno sobre la inversi贸n (ROI) prometido, se apoy贸 en el cierre de uno de esos esquemas, para anunciar el suyo propio, con la excusa de que eran socios y que al caerse una, la otra se hab铆a vuelto insolvente.
Adivinen qui茅n era inversor en las dos... este que est谩 aqu铆 馃ぁ.
Este post no tiene mayores pretensiones que el de dejar una simple pero importante ense帽anza: No existe el dinero f谩cil, no todo lo que vemos en internet es verdad, que un CEO d茅 la cara no lo hace buena persona, estamos constantemente expuestos a estafas y si algo parece demasiado bueno para ser verdad, probablemente no sea tan bueno.
Mant茅ngase a salvo, no regalen su dinero y hagan su propia investigaci贸n.
